It’s “No Hello,” but more polite!
The point of nohelloplease.com & nohelloyesask.com is to offer additional URL options for folx to use. This site has no connection to the original No Hello site; only great respect and gratitude!
Just like “No Hello,” the goal is to ask our colleagues to just ask for what they need. The acceptability of this practice may vary by culture or region. If someone has included a variation of nohello.com on their profile or messaging service, they’re kindly requesting you follow this guidance.
Goals
- Reduce notifications – By greeting and asking for what you need in one message, you’re reducing pings to your colleagues. If they’ve stepped or looked away, it will be less jarring to return to fewer messages.
- Allow prioritization – Message services make us available to each other as often as 24/7. By providing your request in your first message, you’re allowing your colleague to practice autonomy and prioritization, getting to your message when it’s best for them.
- Increase efficiency – Since messages are received instantly, a simple “hello” or “hi how are you” that awaits the recipient’s response only adds to the time spent on a messaging service – which is likely a lot of time already!
- Thoughtful messaging – By pausing to take the time to write out all you need to say or ask all at once, you may be able to send more clear or concise messaging.
Please don’t
